About the Author

Scott Mitic is the founder and CEO of TrustedID® , Inc., a leader in identity theft prevention. He is frequently quoted in the media, and writes a blog on identity theft, at blog.trustedid.com. Scott became interested in identity theft the way most people do: it happened to his family. After a thief cleaned out his family’s checking account and Scott went through the laborious process of recovering his identity, he realized that he needed to get more aggressive about fighting identity theft.

What started out as an individual quest for protection eventually evolved into a business, TrustedID, which helps people prevent identity theft. He firmly believes that a few simple steps can dramatically reduce a person’s risk of becoming a victim. Stopping Identity Theft: 10 Easy Steps to Security outlines these steps while clearly explaining why it is important that readers take them.

Scott Mitic lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and children.
